Health & Safety
At Kiwi Country Day Camp, every activity is planned with “safety first.” As an American Camp Association Accredited Camp, we adhere to all standards for safety.
Our pool and waterfront TEAM members are all certified lifeguards and Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Our on-site health facility is supervised by two registered nurses and an EMT. Campers are supervised throughout the day by their counselors, administrators and specialists. All TEAM members are easily recognizable throughout the camp in their KCDC TEAM shirts.
All KCDC TEAM undergo a full criminal background check and personal references are required and carefully checked.
Putnam Hospital Center is less than four miles from the camp. All of our campers must have a completed health file before they arrive at camp so that our Health Care TEAM can properly service each person.
We employ only professionally licensed and qualified bus drivers of an appropriate age to be members of our Transportation Team. The bus drivers’ primary responsibility is to drive the bus and focus on the road. Each bus includes a KCDC bus counselor whose primary responsibility is to attend to the needs of the campers.
For additional information, please visit our Transportation section of the website.
Our front gate is staffed full-time, and every vehicle is required to sign in and out. An authorized PIN is required any time a camper is picked up.
