Aquatics Facilities: One of the most popular spots at KCDC is the lake. Lake activities feature a long sandy white beach and 2 waterslides. Our youngest campers can be found building sand castles on the beach, while some of our older campers test their skill at catching their very own fish. Canoes, paddle boats and kayaks abound during designated boating periods.
We have four heated pools each designed and staffed to accommodate all levels of swimmers. We offer a beginner pool: 1-3′ deep and three intermediate pools: 3-8′ deep. The largest pool is for more advanced swimmers.
-
- American Red Cross Swimming Program: Under the direction of our Aquatics Directors, the program provides both instruction and recreation for every camper.
-
- Our team of highly experienced Red Cross Water Safety Instructors (WSI) and Certified Lifeguards work closely with our Division Leaders, Group Leaders and General Counselors to offer an unparalleled swimming experience.
-
- Every camper swims twice a day It is our goal to provide your child individual and group instruction that will make your child a better and more confident swimmer.
-
- Swimmers are evaluated and placed according to ability. Campers’ swim progress is tracked daily to ensure continuous skill development. During free swim, FUN and SAFETY is our #1 priority.
