SOAR AND EXPLORE

Older campers have 100% FREE CHOICE! We believe that as a camper ages, they start to have a stronger idea of what really interests them and what they would like to spend some extra time doing at KCDC. We build several weekly and daily opportunities into their schedules to allow them to express themselves, strengthen their skills, and spend more time with campers of similar interests.

SOAR & EXPLORE CHOICE TIME
Campers entering 3rd – 8th grade participate in the Soar & Explore choice time programs. These are a combined one OR two hours (depending on age) of “free-choice” programs that provide an opportunity for campers to explore their individual interests, and encourage campers to pursue those interests they find most challenging. Campers design their own activity schedule on a weekly basis by selecting from several different activities! Campers select their Soar & Explore choice programs at the beginning of every week for that week.

Soar & Explore consists of the most exciting and popular activities at KCDC, including creative arts, our 450′ long Skyrider Zipline, the Geronimo freefall experience, and more. Campers that choose to participate in our summer musicals would participate during their Soar & Explore period.  These choice periods are more like a “deep dive” where campers can strengthen and hone their skills in a particular activity, such as various sports, gymnastics, and more.

SENIOR/TEEN TIME
Senior/Teen Time is a daily choice of activities afforded to campers entering 5th through 8th grade. Campers have the flexibility to change their selection from one day to the next, depending on what they are interested in doing that particular day. Optional activities include sports tournaments, fishing, swimming, gaga and more.

Sign-Up Procedure
Campers who are 3rd through 8th grade attend a Soar & Explore sign-up every Thursday morning during which they plan their individual activity schedule for the following week. This enables campers to plan their weekly schedule with all their friends and campers of similar interests!
